Using the Chat in the LIVEBUY Player

The chat in the LIVEBUY Player allows viewers to interact during a currently ongoing live show. This article explains when the chat is available, how to participate, and what to expect when interacting with moderators and other viewers.

When Is the Chat Available?

• Live shows:
  The chat is active only while a live show is currently running.

• Replays:
  In replays, the chat can be visible only if the replay settings are configured to allow viewers to watch the recorded chat from the live show.

• Clips:
  Clips do not include a chat.

Where to Find the Chat

During a live show:

• The chat appears as an overlay within the player

  • Open or minimize the player by the buttom above the chat

• A chat input field is displayed where you can type your messages

Sending Your First Message

1. Click into the chat field.

2. Type your message.

3. Press Enter or click the Send button.

Before your message is sent, a name overlay appears:

• Enter your name (this can be your real name or a nickname)

• You can also edit your message in this overlay before sending

Once ready, click Send.

Important:
Your name and message are visible to other viewers during the live show and, if enabled, also in the replay.

Saving Your Chat Name

You can choose to save your chat name for future live shows:

• This allows you to join new shows without entering your name again

• The name is saved only on the same device and browser or app

• This is not a login, but a temporary local storage

Sending More Messages

After your first message:

• Your chosen name appears directly in the chat field

• You can change your name at any time by clicking on it

Note:
Changing your name only affects future messages.
Previously sent messages keep the original name and will appear that way in the live chat and replay.

To send more messages:

1. Click into the chat field

2. Type your comment

3. Press Enter or click Send

Moderator Messages and Features

Moderator messages are easy to recognize:

• They are highlighted

• A small shop icon appears next to the moderator’s name

Moderators can:

• Send links that open in a new browser tab when clicked

• Pin messages (such as discount codes or important information) so they stay visible even when new messages appear

• Reply directly to viewer comments

  • Replies are labeled with an indication such as “Reply to [username][comment]” - When the reference comment is too long and not showing the whole comment, you can click on it and it shows the whole comment.

Chat Behavior and Moderation

Please be respectful when using the chat:

• Do not use unfriendly, offensive, or inappropriate language

• Follow basic chat etiquette

If a viewer violates these rules, the moderator may ban the user from the chat.
