Phone
For the highest image and streaming quality, we recommend using high-end devices that were released in 2018 or later (e.g. Apple iPhone X and above, Google Pixel 3 ad above, Samsung S10 or S20).
Ring Light
The main purpose of ring light is to cast an even light onto the person or subject. This reduces shadows on the face and minimizes blemishes while illuminating the eyes. Most newer models also come with an adjustable Light colour which you then can adjust to your products or use case. Beyond that, some also have a phone holder included so you don't need to keep it in your hands and can fully focus on your performance. Sounds good? Here's one example ring light that a lot of the LIVEBUY creators use.
Video Lights
If you need to illuminate a bigger area or multiple people, LED video lights can be handy. They usually come in a set of two, are dimmable and adjustable and some of them even provide coloured light to help you realize your creative vision. Here's an example of a set of white LED video lights and here you'll find an example of RGB-colored lights.
Accent Lights
Accent lights are small little lights that are best placed in the background to create a nice atmosphere. If you're into colourful lights, these little helpers can help you bring some pep to the set. They are light and small, rechargeable and can easily be hidden. Here you'll find an example of a small LED accent light.
Stabilizers
If you need to stay more agile during your show, we recommend using a gimbal for phone stabilization. This helps to create smooth and even movements even when walking or running fast. Some gimbals also come with a small tripod stand, so you can also put them down from time to time. This is very convenient and we recommend getting a gimbal with a stand. You can find a popular gimbal that works well with phones and has a tripod stand here.
Microphones
It's very important for your viewers to understand as best as possible. While modern phones have great microphones, sometimes they work too well and capture a lot of background noise. Especially, if you are filming in a noisy environment. Therefore, if you want to make sure that the voices of your hosts are captured as clearly as possible, we recommend using lav microphones.
There are solutions that work great with mobile phones. Creators have had good experiences with this set with 2 wireless microphones. This set with 4 wireless microphones and can be connected to the headphone jack of your phone with a TRRS cable, which is included as well. Attention: Newer phones don't have headphone jacks anymore, so you might need an adapter. If you have an iPhone, make sure to buy the original adapter from Apple, since 3rd party adapters sometimes are not recognized by the phone correctly.
Internet Connection
For live streaming, we recommend using a stable and fast connection either via wifi or 4G/LTE. Your upload speed should reach 5-7 Mbps and be stable. To test your upload speed, we recommend using a tool like speed.io.
For routers, we recommend not using outdated devices as they can have a large impact on your connection speeds. Besides traditional routers, we recommend trying 4G/LTE routers.
